Neurology

  • Functional Neurology is a fascinating approach to many neurological conditions, including Autism, ADHD, Dementia, Vertigo & other Vestibular Disorders, Concussion, Post-concussion Syndrome, mTBI, Migraine, post -stroke , and chronic pain to name a few.

  • Functional Neurology focuses first on finding the area of WEAKNESS or IMBALANCE  or DAMAGE in the brain. this is accomplished using some of the modalities listed below as well as a thorough neurological exam.

  • Once the patient's unique problem area is identified, it is treated by the use of  a custom "recipe" of various neurological treatment techniques, some of them listed below. One beautiful characteristic of the brain and peripheral nervous system is something referred to as " PLASTICITY".  Brain plasticity simply refers to the ability of the brain to remodel and be "molded" when treated in a precise manner.  That's where the magic is and that's what we do here!

Records and analyzes eye movements using video image technology equipped with infrared cameras mounted in a pair of goggles. This non-invasive test yields powerful assessments of complex neural networks associated with perception, behavior, and spatial orientation.

QEEG BRIAN MAPPING

Using sensors on the scalp, we can measure and record the electrical impulses happening in your brain to. This allows us to see abnormal brain activity and map where that activity is so we can create a personalized neurofeedback treatment.

1 hour sessions in a specialized hyperbaric chamber (higher than atmospheric pressure) with extra oxygen significantly increases oxygen delivery to tissues and has a profound effect on the numerous functions of the body, providing a healing effect for many conditions.

Information gleaned from vestibular infrared goggle testing is used to determine what maneuver to use in treating Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, the most common cause of dizziness/vertigo.

This low-level laser therapy, can induce cell proliferation and enhance stem cell differentiation. This non-invasive laser therapy contributes to pain relief and reduces inflammation and can enhance healing and tissue repair.

Assessment of a standing patient's ability to maintain balance as proprioceptive and visual sensory information is reduced or distorted. The tests can also be used to differentiate the contributions of the visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems to a patient's balance.

Sensory nerve stimulation provides controlled enhancement of sensory input via the nerves for a wide array of neurological disorders. It has proven to be an effective tool for rehabilitation in patients with conditions such as Stroke, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Concussions and more.
